Hi,
I nearly always get the same two trailers whenever I watch a movie and It doesn’t matter what type of movie I watch.
Zootopia is one and the other is Dark Horse. It appears to me to be like 99% of the time and they both play together each time. On the rare occasion something else plays, they are old (pre-released) movies.
My server is up-to-date and I’m running Media Player Preview on a separate Windows 10 PC.
Extras Settings
Choose Cinema Trailers from: Only unwatched movies
Include Cinema Trailers from movies in my library: Yes
Include Cinema Trailers from new and upcoming movies in theaters: Yes
Include Cinema Trailers from new and upcoming movies on Blu-ray: Yes
Cinema Trailers pre-roll video: Nothing added
Can anyone help?
Thanks
I may have resolved it, time will tell but for now it seems ok.
I started a movie, got the same 2 trailers, stopped movie and restarted it and got 2 different trailers so did it a few times and for now at least I’m getting other trailers, albeit still older releases.
Not resolved.
Think trailers on Plex suck…one of the reasons I went for the Plex Pass.
Anyhow, the trailers always seem very limited even when the full range is set.
Another thing I’ve noticed is that there isn’t any content control so it doesn’t matter what movie genre it is, a trailer of a different genre might be played.
For me, this needs great improvement.
E.g. I select a movie, with Genre: Horror, Thriller.
Plex does it’s thing, which would be to check internal DB to see what trailers have been watched in this genre, then go to a source and stream something new that relates to the Horror, Thriller genre.
If I do a quick search on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=horror+trailers+2016+movies+official
There’s over 2 million results. Sure a great portion of those results wont be relevant but there are and will be many trailers that are. They don’t have to be upcoming, they need to put you in the mood. If you were to show horror trailers from within the last 5 yrs (plus anything new) that would be ok, as long as they are relevant (match the genre of the movie) and not repeated 8 times in 10.
For now I either alternate the options or turn them all off.
Strike one.
