Why does my plex only play one movie and then fails

Configuration is

Plex Server on MAC - connected to NAS device where the movies are stored.
Player on FireCube.

Issue: Only one movie plays, then the player shows no movies in the library, although the Plex server is running and the player on the mac os shows all movies. Once I wake up the mac, the library re-appears

I haven’t seen a situation where Plex fails to play another video after finishing the 1st one and cannot reproduce this behavior.

Some questions:

  • What exact version of Plex Media Server do you have installed on this Mac?
  • On what version of macOS are you experiencing this?
  • What Plex client app are you using (and what version of that app)?

Latest version of the plex app on the FireCube

Do you have this behavior only on the FireTV (and other Android based clients), or is this happening on other clients too e.g. Plex Web, Plex for Mac…?
