Why does plex automatically add shadow to subtitle - and how to turn it off

So for a normal video that has clear subtitle in VLC - why is there a shadowy thing around the subtitle once its played in PLEX? Can we turn this off somehow but tweaking the setting ? (didnt find it though)

What exactly is “in Plex” for you?
There are a lot of different hardware and operating system platforms and Plex players.
Please specify which you are using, and whether the subtitles and the video stream are transcoded or not.

window 11 .. web version of the plex
its not transcoded for the said video
and I dont find the shadowy subtitle setting anywhere

There is no setting in the web app to remove the border or the shadow.
All you can change is their size and color.

Also keep in mind that light subtitles without border or shadow are only legible on dark backgrounds.
