if someone with remotely synced content starts playing their media, it shows up on my desktop telling me that they are playing and also the position along the media. I dont see why this is needed, you could be in another country getting roaming bills for data you never realized you were using.PLUS on the server side its annoying as I dont know if this is streaming from me or playing remotely. Just wondering why this is done, as once the remote user syncs all this info would be transferred anyway
If you see it in your server, that user is playing it from your server and not from their local device. Local playback of synced content will not show up on your server.
Yes I thought the same until I disconnected the nas from the server and used my phone, on local synced content, on 4g and up popped what i was watching on the server…the server has no access to the content,so the only logical conclusion is that its reporting to the server what synced content i`m watching.
Can you recreate this and provide me the log from your phone?
i have sent you message with logs…cheers
still doing the same thing…i cant be the only person this is happening too
I’ve seen it, doesn’t always happen but, sometimes, I’ve seen the play state of a sync’d music playlist I’m playing from my phone show up. Being that that playlist was specifically created for, and only used for, my car radio, it was rather odd to see that show up as playing.
I’m able to reproduce this now. I couldn’t before. Let me check and see if this is intended. It is possible since the local device will try to update the playback progress back to the server. I thought it only did watch/unwatched, but maybe it’s changed to track progress as well now, or I just hadn’t noticed this behavior before.
