Why doesn't the PMS Beta on Play Store get updated when new beta releases come out anymore? I used to be able to update my Shield immediately upon new Beta release

Up until late last year, as soon as a new Beta release was announced the update was immediately available and I would update my Shield. But now the Beta PMS on the Play Store isn’t getting updated with the latest Beta release anymore. What happened!?
