The Name Of The Game - S01E02 - The Witness.mp4
The Name Of The Game - S01E03 - The Taker.mp4
You don’t give much information to go on, so here is the default answer: https://support.plex.tv/articles/201543057-why-is-some-of-my-content-not-found/
Thank you. I had to get rid of the S01 part.
so The Name Of The Game - E02 - The Witness.mp4 works.
I just divided the seasons into folders
That’s not the right way to do it. It won’t last long.
Are you even trying to add these into a library of the type “TV Shows”?
And if so, do you have the required folder structure in there as well? https://support.plex.tv/articles/naming-and-organizing-your-tv-show-files/
Thank you again. I will see how it goes.
Actually the folder is called
mini series-dramas-feature length episodes, etc(see drive e for more)
I sense that this is not gonna work as you envision it.
Are you taking some episodes out of tv shows and are trying to put them into a separate library?
No. The name of the game is not in the Tv shows section of Plex.
They are in the movies section. Why-because I think of them as movies, because of the length of the episodes.
Sorry, did I mention that I had the episodes in a folder called
mini series-dramas-feature length episodes, etc(see drive e for more)
If I did, perhaps I confused you. The folded i referred is not a folder I created on Plex. It;s a folder on my hard drive. I did have a problem though which I will ask in a seperate question.
If you place files which are named like a tv show episode into a “movies” library, they’ll be ignored.
The same applies the other way around.
If you put things into a “movies” library, but they are listed as a “mini-series” at TheMovieDB, then you won’t get any metadata for them.
If you use the “stacked file” approach to combine several files into one movie, you won’t be able to jump to the individual parts in the user interface. https://support.plex.tv/articles/naming-and-organizing-your-movie-media-files#toc-2

When you say ignored, can you elaborate?
Should for instance i be able to find “The name of the game” in a search within web player.? The answer is Plex found a few of the episides but not them all. But if i type in Pineapple Rose, which is the name of one episode not found by just typing “name of the game” , it will find that.
If I go to the movies section of Plex media player ie movies on my hard drive, and go to stuff listed under the N section in alphabetical option, i can see all the episodes of The Name of the Game. So I am not quiet sure what it is ignoring.
They won’t get included in the library, hence you won’t be able to find or play them at all.
You did not name it like a tv show episode. So it does show up alright. But you won’t get any meta data for it. And if you add more like this, they might sometimes get recognized as duplicate files of the same movie etc.
ok, thanks .
