Why is my Movies page all of a sudden showing Collections?

When on my “All Movies” page and my filter is set to All and my sort is set to Title, now suddenly it lists the movie titles AND collections. I actually have 821 movies on this library. As long as I don’t sort it by title, that is what it says I have. When I sort it by title the number jumps to 1478. Why is this happening?

Now please take note of the following. I have my movies on a separate computer from my daily use computer. When I look at the movie titles on the computer that houses the movies and is running the Plex Media Server, the movies are displayed correctly no matter how they are sorted. If I use my “daily use computer” to log into my account on your website and launch the server connection, this is where it happens. Any access to my server outside of the actual computer containing the movies is displaying the collections as well as the titles. I have verified this is present on my daily use computer, the Plex App on my phone, and my Fire Stick.

Please help!!!

Looking at the pic you see 2 cover shots for a lot of movies. One is the movie and the other is the collection.

Assuming that you have the latest PMS version, have a look here: https://www.plex.tv/blog/beginning-look-lot-like-collections/

It seems like you might have enabled the option to bring collection data down from TheMovieDB.

A few things you can do:

  • Disable that option and refresh your library.
  • Edit the library and in advanced preferences, set the collections to be hidden.
  • After doing step #1, delete all the single item collections (select and delete in the grid) and then make multi-item collections for fun and profit.

Hope that helps.

Thanks guys, that info was so helpful…all fixed.

+1 for that, very annoying :-D.

Collections were the second most requested feature in Plex.
