Why is my music library missing the Last.fm agent?

I recently moved to a new computer and successfully went through all of the backup/restoration of the Plex server about two weeks back.

Though all my music is mostly working, I recently noticed that my lyrics were not showing up (and they were there previously) and discovered that my music library appeared to be missing the Agent section.

When I create a new music library called MusicRebuild I do have the agent

But I am finding that mostly all of my music will not update correctly…either some artists are not matching or the ones that do are not at all correct in the posters, album info, etc even though my music works correctly in the original music library.

My questions are:

1. why would my music library be missing the agent info?
2. do I need this in order to get the lyrics back or do I need to do something else?
3. why would the new MusicRebuild library stop scanning/updating correctly?

For the 3rd one I believe it might be related to the large library since when doing this for a few albums during testing they scanned and updated as expected.

Thanks for any assistance with this and please let me know if there are specific logs you need that might answer these issues

Note: the folder paths for these are not network paths but using drive letters.

I assume your library is a Plex Premium Music library?
These are currently in a weird state, since Gracenote is not available to Plex anymore and the new music code is still in testing. Right now, all you get are artist infos and covers from last.fm.
You will have to rely on embedded metadata for a few weeks, until work is done and the new code is released.

I did go into the new library edit page and changed the agent from Last.fm to Personal Media Artists and then the posters and metadata started showing up. However, there were a few that would not update even after doing the Plex Dance.

The really odd thing though is that after doing the Plex Dance, because my original music library points to the same media, the lyrics came back afterwards in my original music library. I successfully tested a few others by individually doing the Refresh Metadata and then did it on the whole library. Now the lyrics are back.

The only other odd thing was when I went to go and edit the original music library, the Advanced section was grayed out because the Add Folders path was missing. I added it back but when I went into the Advanced section I still didn’t have the agent options (as per my first screenshot above).
