Why is Plex destroying itself more and more?

I have a lifetime subscription and my server at Hetzner, and I’m slowly getting tired of Plex. The server software keeps getting worse, I suddenly have “generate loudness database” running permanently even though I never enabled that in my libraries, the mobile app is a complete disaster and isn’t getting any better, and I just want to see my server, which I paid for. I don’t care about all the other stuff. I don’t need Discover, What’s On, Live TV For You, etc. Plex Amp will probably get worse too. And now this completely unnecessary and buggy Apple TV app? And they’re even proud that none of the privacy-related stuff works, and to this day they’re still too lazy to finally develop a native Apple Silicon framework instead of being lazy and using an mpv clone that emulates cross-platform?

I’m sticking with the old app. My second ATV has already been ruined by the new app, so Infuse is going on that one, and if things get even worse, I’ll probably have to start setting up another media server.

The first thing I’ve been waiting for years is the move to Apple Silicon. Until that happens, you know there’s no reason to update.

You cannot run a Plex server at Hetzner.

Might have to do with the feature which has been released today. See https://support.plex.tv/articles/audio-track-enhancements-for-video/ how to disable it for your video libraries.

Hire your own developers to write exactly what you want since Plex developers need to write for the majority of Plex users and what leadership wants?

You are no longer the customer. Plex did say the majority of users now don’t have a server.

Plex Amp will probably get worse too YES ! That’s the reason I went backwards to older version of Plex that still has the music built in !
