Why Is Plex so unstable on a NAS running Windows Server?

I have several problems with Plex Server, running on Windows Server 2012. Mainly that it is so unstable, but the one that is really getting my goat at the moment is that whenever there is an update available, the instability is so bad that unless it is installed then it becomes totally unusable and unresponsive. Even if I try to skip the update, it continues to stop running. Restarting the server cures it for about 10 minutes and then it stops working again.

Then when I try to perform the update through the Plex web interface says that it will restart in a few minutes… Well you could sit there for a couple of years and it would never come back up. I have to completely restart the server for it to become available. This works for a couple of weeks until the next update that is forced upon me.

If it was not for the fact this is the only server software that works with Sonos I would dump it without a second thought. It is useless. If I could turn the updates off it would be an improvement, but that does not appear possible.

Whoever is in charge of development, please either fix this or perform an update that allows me to turn off updates altogether.

The software, as it is, is absolutely awful.

Additionally on the Android mobile version the ‘Add to Queue’ option no longer appears to work.

Please get your act together.

Would be useful to add the Versions of the software involved… PMS, Client etc
The usual information, logs, problem description…

All would add to getting the help your looking for…

PMS stopped working again. Rebooting Windows, which is the only way to get the server back up brought PMS back up. Telling me yet another pointless update was performed. Now had an update to Windows and Plex does no longer works at all. I have never encountered such poor software. I am going to have to reinstall to try to get it working. If not it goes for good. This is totally unacceptable. Just read the rest of the forums with people having similar or identical problems. How bad can this get.

good luck…
