Why is plex splitting my artists?

Hi all,
Why is plex splitting some of my artists?? For example, it seems to think “Ben Harper (other)” is different from “Ben Harper (acoustic)”? Oh man, what a pain. Is the agent trying to be too smart for it’s own good?

‘Refresh Metadata’ on both artists.
Leave plenty of time to finish this operation. (several minutes)

Please copy the contents of the Plex XML info of one track out of each artist in here.
(Don’t post the URL to the XML)

Hm, this is puzzling. I see no reason why these should be separated.
Have you tried to merge the artists?

Are you intentionally separating the two discs of this album into 2 separate “albums”?
If you don’t, change your embedded meta tags and the folder layout like this:

mp3tag_multidisc_album
mp3tag_multidisc_album1717×741 53.6 KB

Then perform the Plex Dance “light” (i.e. leave out step 4) with this album.
