Why is there no way to control the photo slideshow speed???

Slideshow speed is way too fast for my liking and I can’t find a way to slow it down. Such an obvious function that seems to be missing.

No, not possible.

Having:

  1. The ability to have a slideshow (especially for photos) that can repeat on a loop &
  2. The ability to change display duration for each photo would be awesome. Any chances of this feature being implemented?

I agree with both requests, I’d like to loop a slideshow, and change the display interval.

Been wanting/waiting for these features for a long time…Still keeping the faith.

I have the same question as above.

  2. The ability to change display duration for each photo would be awesome. Any chances of this feature being implemented?

Any update?

why is this basic feature not implemented yet?

Did anyone make a feature request for this?

I dont think anyone is using the slideshow feature when the images change so fast.

This works:

PLEX: to increase the slideshow delay time value:

open file in notepad: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex\Plex Media Server\Resources\Plug-ins-fd05be322\WebClient.bundle\Contents\Resources\js
main-1-20c05ad369662168ab2a-plex-3.53.7-1c80782”
Search [CTRL-F] file for : “onSlideShowAdvance,”
change the value after the comma i.e from 5e3 to 30e3
save
Refreash PLEX session
Run Slideshow

I was very hopeful this would work but it has not taken effect even after shutting everything down and starting it over.

Has anyone had success?

C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex\Plex Media Server\Resources\Plug-ins-fd05be322\WebClient.bundle doesn’t exist on any of my Plex machines. I have a …Framework.bundle but it even has different subfolders in it.

This fix partially worked for me on Linux Ubuntu 18.04 running Plex 1.14.1.5488. Had to look around for the right javascript file to change, which on my system was:
/usr/bin/plexmediaserver/Resources/Plug-ins-cc260c476/WebClient.bundle/Contents/Resources/js/main-1-690b3309d4d2a263720a-plex-3.77.4-ae9ba53.js

Changing value of the parameter “onSlideShowAdvance” from the default 5e3 milliseconds works, but ONLY for web browser-based clients. For the Plex app on my Vizio SmartTV, I am still stuck with the 5 second interval. Presumably the app does not rely on server-side javascript, so perhaps there is no way of fixing this on the server, but I would be grateful to anyone who can share a fix for app-based clients.

Really unbelievable that this basic feature isn’t supported after all these years.

Tried changing the 5e3 but didn’t work on my Win7 machine. But I really wanted (like darthb) to run slideshow on my Vizio Plex app. Obviously I’ve been hoping the issue in this 3 year old thread would have been addressed and fixed by now!

How hard can it be?

How come my kodi app has this feature but not plex - there just both streaming apps ???. Will have to use kodi (might even be tempted to pay for the plus version in that!)
