Two things come to mind;
Internet or plex.tv server outage will kill access to your plex server unless you’ve previously logged in and was logged in as the user you want. Not being able to access the plex server through the local host ip from the server machine itself is not an idea that should have made it through production.
Fast User Switching should switch a client to the user of the remote app.
