I am flabbergasted that there is no way to reorder a playlist other than by clicking on a title and dragging it. If you have a playlist that is 300 movies long and you want to move a recently added title to the top, you have to drag the title to the top of your screen, scroll the screen, drag the title another couple of positions, scroll the screen again, drag the title up again, etc. Why in the WORLD can’t you just type the position number next to the title and have it appear in the new position? PLEASE implement this feature, as reordering playlists is currently an _extremely _painful process.
Can we also add the ability to move multiple titles at the same time? I have a TV Show playlist and I have to move an entire season up in the order … :s
I wholeheartedly agree. I have a playlist that includes over 300 items and dragging a new item to the top is a terrible UI experience. It would be so useful if we could click the number next to an item and type in “1” and it moves into the “1” position while moving everything else down 1 position. Please add this feature!
As a side-note. I’m having issues with not even being able to drag to reorder items in my playlists at all when using Chrome.
+1 for this playlist ordering
I’ve found that you have to scroll down slowly, to ensure that all the metadata has loaded, before moving anything. If I had to guess, I’d say the page loads items on demand, and can’t process a move request until all the items in the playlist are loaded.
Yes! This is the case. Once I scrolled through the entire list slow enough for each thumbnail to load I was able to reorder my playlist. Thank you for the tip!
I still wish they would implement a better way to move items in very long lists but for now I’ll just have to drag and hold for each item in a 300+ list…
netflix dvd queue has a great implementation, you can re-order by drag/drop OR by changing the position number.
I know this is two years old, but I use safari and have to do this drag-to-top-of-screen, scroll-up, drag up more…
Chrome lets me drag to top of browser window, then the interface keeps scrolling the playlist upwards until i drop the item. THIS SHOULD WORK IN SAFARI as well - but does not.
Why?
Well this is embarrassing. I have a music playlist with a mere 92 items in it and it’s incredibly cumbersome to add an item to it and get it near the top. Currently in Firefox I can’t even drag items at all (had to open Chrome to do so). Even in Chrome, I have to sit there and wait to manually drag one item up.
Even more laughable on iOS. If you scroll all the way to the bottom of a playlist and find an item you want to put near the top you have to scroll all the way to the top to enter ‘Edit’, then scroll all the way back to the bottom to find the item, then drag it all the way to the top. Obnoxious with 92 items, if I had a more extensive playlist I’d be horrified.
But hey, at least I can listen to podcasts and enjoy snackable video news.
