Why do we have to re-select our managed user account every single time we switch to the app?! Open the app? Select user. Check messages, switch back? Select user. Screen locks? Select user. This seems profoundly stupid to me.
My father is disabled, and his iPad is his only means of entertaining himself, so he uses PLEX a lot. Which is great. But he screws up everyone else’s watch lists, because he accidentally selects their user account, since he must do it all the time.
Enable auto sign in on his iPad in the account settings and it will stay on whomever used it last. if his account is a managed user account you must do it under your account then switch to them. ( a managed user will not have access to that setting)
Thanks very much, that resolved the issue. I would point out, however, that this still seems like a less-than-ideal workflow. It’s unlikely I would have ever figured that out on my own. Thanks again.
The reason a managed user will not have that setting is because they could potentially set it without yoru knowledge and get into your account.
Say the family shares an iPad and you have access to the violent movies but your childrens managed account does not. the managed account user was clever and set the preference then enabled the picker then set the device down. Then you pick it up select your account and when you set it down you expect it to go back to picker but it won’t because they set it to auto sign in to last user. so they pick it up and they are auto-signed into your account which will even bypass the pin if you have one.
