I’ve used PLEX for years and love it. A month ago something changed and now I need to select a user everytime I start the app on my ipad, telephone and computer. I didn’t intentionaly activivate this but it could be me, or an update. What I am looking for is how to turn it off. I have some 20 friends who have access via their accounts to my libraries, which I’ve had for years, but they shouldn’t be a user like I am.

As soon as you create a managed user, or invite an additional full plex.tv account into your Plex Home, you will see the user selection screen.
On devices which are usually used by only one persion, you can activate the setting “Automatic Logon”. This will automatically select the last-used user account on this device.
You will have to be logged in as the Admin user of this Plex Home, to even see the setting.
This setting is individual to every Plex client.
If you are using the Plex Web app, you better tell your web browser to not delete the cookies of the domain plex.tv when it is closed. Otherwise it will forget all settings inbetween sessions.
(sometimes there is also 3rd-party software responsible for deleting cookies. Look for the likes of “privacy assistants”, anti virus software suites or “system cleaners”.)
