Why must the app keep getting worse?

While I have a lifetime pass, I only ever really use Plex for my own media. And for some reason, features are removed or tweaks for the worse are made, and it’s really frustrating!

It used to be really clear when an item in a playlist was unwatched… orange dot to the left. It gave you a lot of info at a glance. Then it was changed to instead display a tiny checkmark in the corner of the video thumbnail you’re on when watched, which is buggy on Apple TV besides, sometimes just not showing up even when an item is, indeed, watched.

This would be less of a big deal if I could remove items from a playlist from the Apple TV, so I don’t have to look for semi-working watched checkmarks and also, no scrolling. But you can’t do that on Apple TV, even though you can on Roku. Why…?

Ok then, I know. I’ll just remove the playlist item using the iOS app on my phone, like I’ve done for years…

oh wait, the latest iOS app update removed that feature!. Now I have to go to my server on the other side of the house to edit playlists. WHY? Besides that, I can no longer customize my homescreen to be exactly how I want it… no more ability to put playlists there. And, playlists are also no longer viewable as a title list, instead it’s locked to 2-column thumbnails, which for some long-titled shows, doesn’t even leave enough space for me to see the episode number of a show!

I’m sure there’s something in this update that someone thinks is better… but for me all it did was make Plex materially worse.

Please bring back the ability to edit playlists on iOS at least. Removing features for no reason is indefensible.

I’ve just updated. The Plex app on my iPad, and now it won’t do anything! It gets stuck on a “finding libraries” screen & goes nowhere.
