You are playing the file in the Chrome browser.
No known web browser currently supports H.265 video, so Plex has no choice than to transcode it to H.264. Otherwise you wouldn’t see anything.

Hi. I did not know about the limitation for H265 in plex web browser. However, the same thing happens to me when I take Plex in my appletv (updated TVOS11, theoretically already supports H265)
In which plex clients do you have the assurance that this does not happen?
The only client that I know which plays almost any H.265 file is
Plex Media Player. You can downlaod it for free above. It runs on Mac and PC.
All other clients may support some files, but have restrictions about the container format (mp4 vs mkv or the color depth [8 bit vs 12 bit] or the audio codecs)
Pretty good support for H.265 is also available in the nVidia Shield TV.
