Why release an unfinished app?

Hey Plex, why did you release an unfinished app and remove the perfectly fine working one?
Why so user hostile?

I mean they had remote sever, watch together and music although I understand by 2.5 percent use case and less on the others I know resources are just better spend elsewhere, I know you guys want feedback on new app but when I can’t even watch my media it’s a little pointless.

When really the new open api features including alternative media such as ebook reading potential (developt by community even maybe calibre ebook server intergration) some really cool stuff we wanted for ages can now be developed, I want everything the new system has to offer I appreciate the rewrite and building what we want for future years, but when plex leaves us short of what just work’d, and what we liked, the people are just a little bit upset right now, but I have faith.

I agree, I cannot even check my DVR schedule with this new ‘Limited App’. It is not an improvement in my book. I used the IOS app to check my recordings every day and now this wonderful new app has no path to my DVR activities. I’d like the old app back until this one is finished and then I’m not sure I would want it then until I had a chance to agree or disagree that it is really better! Come on Plex you are better than that, now I have to go to my laptop or desktop to check the schedule and when I’m mobile that is not always workable.

That’s interesting, because someone comment somewhere and said that with the code they’ve rebuilt, it will take more time to re-implement what was already there, I agree and think the revert would be viable. Not a backtrack on the development of new app, just stick the old one on bugfix mode and develop new one in beta. Many people want this and suggest this across the board.
