Will a Server un-install / re-install retain Plex database?

Using Plex pass server version 1.11 but giving me problems and can’t downgrade to 1.10 via package center. Recommendations are to uninstall and reinstall older version. However really don’t want to lose my Plex setup, database and metadata.

Backing up the database will take absolutely ages in my case given its size. I’ve read (posts were a few years old) that uninstalling the Plex server via package center shouldn’t remove the Plex library, metadata etc.

Can anyone confirm this? And if it’s the case, after re-installing, will Plex retain the setup and assigned media folders?

I keep the binary in the @appstore and your Library (metadata) out on the main volume.

It is 100% safe to uninstall the package in Package Center. This is the only way to downgrade in DSM.

Deleting the Plex share does delete your metadata

Edit: If you use File Station to create a ZIP of Library (in the Plex share) while PMS is stopped, this is the perfect backup.

And adding to @ChuckPA here, just in case others, using other NAS Vendors products, are reading this
It differs from NAS Vendor to NAS Vendor…

For Syno, you are safe, for QNAP, you would NOT be
