Will Plex auto select the better audio track?

Will Plex use a better audio track if available and not the first track?

My goal is to not have Plex transcode my files while playing to an apple tv4, so at the moment I’ve been using handbrake with He-AAC and Dolby Pro Logic II. However I want to future proof some of the movies that include 5.1/7.1 audio tracks, or even adding a passthru track. So I am just curious, would Plex detect that the device can support the better source and switch to use it, or would I have to manually select it?
Hopefully that makes sense and that I’m not trying to over complicate things.

I am pretty sure it picks the first track as the default. Any others need to be manually selected.

It really depends on the client type.
Roku might auto-select it and puck the better quality if it is configured for surround.

Plex Media Player does also auto-select the 5.1 track, even if it is only the second audio track.

There may be other clients which do this as well.
