Will Plex DVR support multiple recordings on same transponder ?

as title above, Will Plex DVR support multiple recordings on same transponder ?

by that I mean atm Plex DVR needs a free tuner for each recording, regardless if the recordings are on same Channel or Transponder

example:
Rec1: ITVHD 20:58 - 21:02
Rec2: ITVHD 21:58 - 22:02

the above example requires 2 free tuners, where in reality is should only require one, also the below example in reality should also only require one tuner as all channels are on the same transponder, as you can see from the screenshot.

Rec1: BBC1HD 20:58 - 21:02
Rec2: BBC2HD 20:58 - 21:02
Rec3: ITVHD 20:58 - 21:02
Rec4: CH4HD 20:58 - 21:02

Can a Plex DVR Dev please respond to my question, just I see no real reason why this should not be possible as the HDHomeRun has a 100Mbit lan port.

+1 on this, I have several recording clashes due to this more when the are on the same channel with timer overlaps than the same MUX.

Again I am in the UK with the same issue.

I think only MythTV supports this…

I guess for Plex a tuner is not necessarily like a Tuner in the DVB land. It receieves one stream and this is basically “a tuner”. If the tuning hardware and software, like Enigma, Mythtv, TVHeadend, VDR, etc, can handle this by using the same transponder and extracting multiple mpegts streams - that is something that Plex would need to learn and understand.

I would expect this to be delivered by the “tuner” box, in the case of the beta HDHR. The TVH Proxy does deliver N streams to Plex. so I can run multiple recordings on the same transponder and even channel that overlap and that works as expected, seamlessly. Only that plex thinks each stream is on transponder, while in reality I record 4 different shows with one tuner if I like to.

NextPVR does this as well. It’s one of the reasons I am hesitant to move in the direction of Plex ATM.

Yeah, wondered if this would be a future feature as well. I think I read that the HDHR DVR does this was thinking of setting it up in the next week or two to compare differences between it and current Plex DVR.

+1 on this from me. I’ve been expanding the use of Plex recently and I’ve ended up moving my PMS to a Pi 3B+ with a Pi DVB TV HAT. All is working well, but it’s a little frustrating that Plex can’t handle multiplexing. I assume this capability has not been incorporated yet or have I overlooked a setting that needs setting?

+1 from me as well. Multiple channels per transponder here in Australia, not to mention the need to overlap recordings on the same channel.

nb. I have 4 tuners - when I was using MythTV as a test I scheduled 16 simultaneous recordings, it worked fine.
