Will Plex Media Player 32 bits version be available?

Any update…? :frowning:

Bumping this. I understand that 32 bit is a thing of the past and all that, but I guess the point of PMP is that it should enable direct playing on as many computers as possible. And older computers or laptops often gets used as media players instead of getting tossed away.

In my case I have a couple older computers where PMP would serve it’s purpose well.

@vlang & @tobiashieta don’t underestimate the value of older hardware as dedicated video playback tools. Is there any rough plan on when we will see the 32 bit version?

I don’t know for Apple, but latest version Windows and Ubuntu are available in 32-bit and 64-bit version.

Mac OS has been 64-bit only since 10.7 in 2011, and the last Macs sold with 32 bit CPUs were sold in 2007, so there’s not really a need for 32 bit software anyway.

32 bit version is not only needed for “old” systems. There’s a bunch of newer Intel Atom based systems that can run only 32 bit windows due to their 32 bit UEFI. Like the Intel Compute Stick and Minix neo z64.

Just bought a new compute stick. Very bummed to see pmp does not run on it. Most of HDMI sticks are ideal platforms for PMP but they come with 32 bit windows and a 32 bit uefi bios that prevents installing the 64 bit version.

Still no ETA?

I also need the 32 bit version.

+1 for 32bit version

My PMS runs on the same machine I use to run PHT in my living room. It’s a 32 bits Windows 7 and I don’t want to reinstall everything. Like someone else said, there is a lots of 32 bits PC still out there that are capable of running all Plex software. It would be sad to force everyone to “buy” a new version of Windows to support a free software.

Thanks,

The 32 bit license also works with 64bit. No need to buy anything.

+1 for 32bit version!

I want to use PMP because I use Alexa to control Plex, but can’t use my (expensive…) tablet for PMP because it has a x86 CPU :frowning:

And another who needs a 32 bit version.

I’d like to find link to last released version of 32bit Player for Windows, how? where?
