Will Plex on nvidia shield ever support correctly smb2 and smb3?

Hi,

Setup
My Plex server is on my nvidia shield.
All the movie/tv file are on my synology nas.

Problems list
1- I am forced to use smb1

If I change the parameter of my nas to only support smb2 or smb3, when I launch a video on the nvidia shield Plex player, it will take 20 to 40 seconds to be able to play the file.

From what I can see, the nvidia shield properly support smb2 or smb3, so I have no idea why it is so slow on Plex: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/shield-tv/9/258617/smb23-support-smb1-is-being-removed-from-win10-soo/2829113/

I try with mpv player and the video start immediatly playing, so the issues seems to be on Plex side.

So, I am forced to use smb1 because, when I launch a video on the nvidia shield Plex player, it will be take maximum 5 seconds before playing a video.

Here are the parameter I am forced to use on my synology nas:

2- There is two option on Plex that don’t work in all case:
a) Analyze my library automatically
b) Start a partial scan when a change is detected

If I understand correctly, these option won’t work if your server is on a nvidia shield and your file are on your nas because Plex use iNotify and iNotify need to have access to the kernel which is obviously not the case.
It will be great if you could write a note under these option that they don’t work if your file are not on the same system as your server.

Thank you

If I remember correctly, you should play with the check boxes about “opportunistic locking” to cause a change with the Shield.

Where is the option you are talking about?
I can’t find it

They are in your own screenshot above.

I find a topic with more information.

I understand now why it was pretty fast with smb1.

Thank you
