I am thinking of switching ISP to a local provider, M-Net, as my upload speed is too low with my current provider. However, before I do, I would really like to get some feedback from anyone with this ISP who has experience accessing their Plex server remotely. Is it working properly?
I’m using m-net.
Their default setup is assigning you an IPv6 address (routable) and a GCNAT IPv4 address (not routable from outside). You can configure a manual port forward – with IPv6 the Fritz!Box you get from them seems to only support an exact forward (e.g. public port = private port).
This IPv6 forward / remote access config works ok for me using Plex Web and my Apple devices (iOS / tvOS clients). IIRC, none of the other clients supports IPv6 remote connections at the moment.
