Plex doesn’t announce release dates in advance. I think the writing is on the wall and there won’t be one but that’s just me…

It’s not updated for over a year, even after the community was asked for a poll so that plex could gauge interest in the app. I wouldn’t get my hopes up as we’ve had nothing official from Plex in a long time now. More complaining here PLEX, SHOW YOUR CUSTOMERS SOME RESPECT

Really? My post gets removed as inappropriate? You know what is inappropriate? Dropping support for one of the largest OS’s out there. Ridiculous

For non-mobile Windows systems, there is PMP. For the mobile Windows platform, well it’s hardly a blip on the market share radar. Sorry.

Plex Media Player is better than the Windows 10 app for no other reason than it’s cross platform compatible. Win7, Win8, Win10. Try it and see if it works.

Agreed that sadly windows mobile is dead but this point has been raised every single time. PMP is NOT an option for people with Surfaces or 2 in 1s who want a good touch interface and working sync. Or even use Plex on their laptops when travelling.

Cool. How do I sync with it. Wait…touchscreen isnt working…-zzzzzzz…really great option. Someone tell them this isnt 1990…get rid of the featureless PMP and fix the app.

I don’t disagree. Unfortunately I just don’t see Plex spending their limited resources on a platform that is nearly dead. I hope I’m wrong though!

the MOBILE platform is dead. However, UWP can run on any device, and the xbox app gets updated on a fairly regular basis so in theory, porting that to Windows 10 should be doable.

You’re confusing your terminology.

Plex windows store app has nothing to do with “windows mobile”, which is a dead platform.

Store apps or uwp apps are universal, meaning they are meant to run on intel and arm processors, and various devices including the xbox.

There are many windows devices including laptops, 2-in-1s and tablets, many of which are technically “mobile” devices but they do not run “windows mobile”

Indeed. I’m frankly confused why the Xbox app isn’t simply the app for all Windows devices.
