I’m glad to see this is being worked on. It’s very annoying having to stop playback to get to fullscreen.
I’ve been getting the same issue on my PC (R9 3900x + RTX 2060 Super) as well for the last several weeks, and it also goes away when setting plex to never be on top of other windows (which is a feature I’d much rather keep on). Hoping it can get resolved.
Edit: 1.33.0.2444-a220eae4 also fixed it for me. Thanks!
I’m having the same issue, Ryzen 3700X, GTX1070Ti
App version is 1.31.1.2262-74fdc6b7
Desktop app version 1.33.0.2444-a220eae4 fixed the issue for me.
I fully realize this might be an id10t issue but I’m on the newest version (1.33.0.2444-a220eae4) and “Keep Plex on top of windows” is set to always and the Windows taskbar is still visible (both in during playback and during navigating the GUI. I’m running latest version of Win10 with the taskbar locked and “Automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode” switched to off.
No clue what the issue could be.
I have the same problem on version 1.33.0.2444-a220eae4 with updated Windows 10, 5900x, 3080.
I’ve tried a variety of suggested fixes like different ‘Keep Plex on top of windows’-settings and pausing movie first. Nothing helps, the taskbar always stays on top.
I can also confirm that I have the same issue on the Plex HTPC app. The only way to resolve it is to click on the icon in the upper right to exit out of full-screen mode and then click it again to enter full-screen mode. Then and only then is the app fully in full-screen mode with the windows taskbar not visible.
@MartinC2S Do you have anything installed that might modify the taskbar? I’ve seen some programs that will keep the taskbar from hiding because of this. Some programs for your GPU may also affect this.
