Plex app exits fullscreen when playback is paused or resumed

So I searched through the forum and this bug is almost a year old. Has any solution been discovered?

Thanks

How are you pausing/resuming playback?

I’m not seeing the problem. If I use the spacebar to pause/resume, the app does not exit full screen. The on-screen controls appear for a couple of seconds, then go away. Also works OK if I move my mouse to pull up on-screen controls and click on play/pause.

Plex for Windows version 1.13.0.1275 on Windows 10 Pro.
PMS 1.19.4.2935 on Synology DS918+

I tried all three ways. Spacebar, clicking the button and clicking on the picture. It all does the same thing. Exits fullscreen.

Happens to me too

I haven’t been able to reproduce. I’m on the same Plex for Windows version. I’ve entered fullscreen using the icon button within our application and using the Alt+Enter shortcut.

Restart the app, reproduce the problem, quit the app, then share the Plex.log file with us: https://support.plex.tv/articles/windows-mac-app-logs/

Having the same issue July 2020.
Using windows ,
Plex media player v1.13.0.1275-bbd8d37b
Plex media server v1.19.4.2935-79e214ead

Plex app exits fullscreen when playback is paused or resumed,
I tried:
-to fullscreen : alt+enter / f11 / the UI button.
-play/pause : space bar / the UI button / remote play using android app.
all combinations of the above gave same result.

Problem persists after uninstall / reinstall of Plex player.

I have the same problem, everytime i start Plex for Windows, start playback or pause playback it always goes back to windowed mode. No matter if i click play, hit spacebar or how i enter fullscreen, tested both fullscreen button top right and Alt+Enter.

Edit: fixed attached file to corret one not Plex.log.1

Plex.log (206.8 KB)

I had the same issue but I found a solution.

Plex for Windows Version 1.13.0.1275-bbd8d37b
Windows 10 Home 1903

Settings - Keep Plex on top of windows

It was “During playback” for me, and I don’t remember setting it that way. After setting it to “Never”, the issue was solved.

Hi,

Tried this.
Version 1.13.0.1275-bbd8d37b

Did not work, hit space bar to pause or play window always leaves fullscreen.

Possible solution:
Version 1.14.0.1340-0acc754c
Go general > Allow Fallback to Insecure Connections > set to “never”
that did it for me

I can chime in and say that I have the same problem, using latest Plex 1.15.1.1358-43550df5, but this has been an issue a VERY long time, and is the sole reason I’ve never changed over to the new Plex and was still using the legacy version since I’ve never found a solution for this.

However, I can confirm that setting “Keep Plex on top of windows” to either Always or Never solved this for me. (Thank you for this tip!)

Setting it to “During playback” Plex exists fullscreen every time playback is stopped, which has been highly annoying.

FYI this is on the Desktop view (since I do not like the TV view, regardless of what Plex mods try to convince you is a “solution” to this problem in other threads).

This was totally the fix for me. I just changed the option to keep plex on top recently and forgot about it. Disabled it and no more leaving fullscreen when I pause/resume
