I have installed Plex Media Server (latest version) on my desktop PC with all media stored locally. Internet connection is via Ethernet (NBN FTTP.) After initial setup and selecting locations where I store my media. I continued to get the message “Looking for servers” when opening Plex on my desktop PC (at this stage I have not setup any other players/devices).
I read some forums where people were having this same issue and it was resolved by deleting some Plex registry entries which I did, being ‘PlexOnlineMail’, ‘PlexOnlineToken’ & ‘PlexOnlineUsername’. After deleting these and reopening Plex Media Server on my desktop I now see all my media. I am then prompted with a message saying this server is unclaimed. Clicking the claim server button removes my media from the Plex Media Server Dash but doesn’t appear to claim the server as this button and message of unclaimed server do not disappear.
I can continue to use Plex Media Server with an unclaimed server but this does not seem advisable.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated
