Secure connections enabled on my plex server (SSL certificate from Let’s Encrypt installed with a custom domain name. Public DNS via Cloudflare is configured to point back to my plex server.) On my windows app, I do not allow fallback to insecure connections.
I have been browsing my collection using the Plex windows player app on my work PC. My Plex server is at home. I like to click into titles, then click into artists to see what other movies I have that they are in. After reviewing an artist, I click the back arrow to go back to the title page. After 3 or 4 artists visited, the next back button click causes the title page to not load. The title details page is blank with a spinning wait circle. If I click back again, the library list loads no problem. After triggering this title-page-won’t-load issue, if I click into another title, it too won’t load. From the library list, I can still start movies by clicking on the play button directly. But, I can’t load the details pages of any subsequent title I click into. The only fix is to close the app and restart.
If I use the web app in Chrome, I can reproduce the same issue. After clicking in and out of a few artists (3 or 4), the next subsequent “back” to a title details page, causes the app to stop loading the titles. When I cause the title-page-won’t-load issue, all subsequent clicks in the web app do nothing. Looking at chrome developer mode, there are many errors in the console. On the network tab, I can see that a click causes a few network request but all requests are going to plex.tv for event collection purposes. There are no requests generated back to my plex server.
In the web app on chrome, when I click on the artist right before causing the title-page-won’t-load, I see 3 errors. The errors are quite long so I’m truncating a bit. I can upload full error messages needed:
