Windows app does not de-interlace

Server Version#:1.16.5
Player Version#: 1.3.1.916
Trying to watch live TV from my Plex server on a windows desktop computer.
Using the windows app version 1.3.1.916 it looks very interlaced.
Yet looking in the browser (google chrome) it looks much smoother.
But in the browser I get more hick ups (paused playback). Not sure why.
What is the best way to watch live TV.
Overall both interfaces (web based or windows app) look very similar and are fine. Just the playback quality should be improved. Why not by default de-interlace in the windows store app?

The Windows store app has been deprecated. Do you mean the Plex for Windows app that you can download directly from Plex? If so, the deinterlacing is a known problem. You could temporarily use Plex Media Player instead. It’s being retired, but still works fine. You can enable hardware decoding and deinterlacing in the settings once you switch it to TV mode (and that setting sticks, even if you change it back afterward).

Thanks Cafe_Diem. That worked. Still surprised that PLEX is not made more for watching live TV. in the TV mode, you can not get the TV listing / guide. So not that useful for me. But your trick worked.
Let’s hope they add de-interlace standard to the windows app (and correct: not from the windows store…).
Still looking now for a way to actually replace my windows media center box. Nothing out there can do channels like HBO… :frowning:
