I recently switched from hosting a PMS on my Shield Pro for videos to just using it as a player for everything coming from my Windows PMS. I’m wondering if there’s an issue with my Windows PMS sending Atmos/TrueHD audio. The audio badges/tags on my TV shows and movies that previously said TrueHD 7.1 now look like they’re only EAC3 5.1.
My Shield Pro is connected to my AVR and had previously had no issues playing Atmos/TrueHD audio when it was coming from the Shield Pro Server. I’ve searched around and I think I’ve checked all the options I could find (transcoding, passthrough), and it hasn’t fixed the issue. Is there something I’m missing or maybe my Windows PMS machine isn’t capable somehow?
It looks maybe like it has to do with direct play based on the log, but I’m not great at interpreting all of that. The most recent attempt to play Tron: Ares is a good example, as I know that file has Atmos/TrueHD audio, and displayed EAC3 5.1 in the player just now.
