Windows server migration

I have a Plex server running on a NAS but I want to create another on Windows. This simple thing appears impossible. I turned off the zNAS server but Plex insists I log in to the web portal and from there I see no way to create a new server. From the windows PC I am just logged in as client
Anybody any idea around this.

Your posts leaves a lot to interpretation…

  • Have you actually downloaded / installed Plex Media Server to your Windows PC (not “Plex for Windows” which is indeed a client/player only!)
  • In order to setup the new server… did you access it through its direct IP address (e.g. 127.0.0.1:32400/web, localhost:32400/web or [local machine’s IP address]:32400/web) – you cannot create/initialize the server through app.plex.tv/desktop (nor claim it for the first time)
