I have the product “WinTV-DualHD” Plex Media Server “1.7.5.4035-313f93718” running on a netgear readynas 312 firmware 6.7.5
I have tried searching for the product on the Plex Media Server DVR (Beta) page, by clicking (SETUP PLEX DVR) the search fails to find “WinTV-DualHD”
I’m running WinTV v8.5.35173 AAC (CD 5.7 ACC) running on windows 10 pro, 64-bit, I’ve tried the search with the WinTV program open, and with it closed, nothing shows up, plex shows it can connect to the internet by the default port, and i can open the plex app/program and watch things from my plex media server in side my network and outside,
product page :
hauppauge.co.uk/site/products/data_dualhd.html
the product is listed as being supported, if it isnt, it needs removing, from my point of view it isnt, sort this out now, so that no one else wastes time on this pointless setup
thanks
I believe the WinTV-DualHD only works when plugged directly into the device and I don’t think the ReadyNAS will recognize the USB device. You might want to return it and get an HDHomeRun so you can plug it into your network and find it by IP address.
Thank you @MCCOHUNT for your reply, I’ve been talking to Plex support, (very hard to get hold of) and it would seem you are right, the usb tv tuners dont work under nas, heres the official response for anyone else.

As very indicated clearly in that support article, the WinTV-dualHD tuner is supported for Plex Media Server when running under Windows, Linux, and NVIDIA SHIELD. Currently, only HDHomeRun and DVBLogic TVButler 100TC tuners are supported in your region when running your server on a NAS device.
Different tuner hardware requires different device drivers to be available on the platforms (Windows, macOS, NAS, etc.) and not all platforms support all the tuner devices. Such drivers are outside of Plex’s control. Apologies for any confusion.
Thanks!
I dont think the support page is very clear, the WinTV-DualHD comes with software, which allows windows to talk to the tv tuner, if you look in services, theres something called “HauppaugeTVServer” one could believe this service, would allow the Plex Media Server, to connect to the computers software “HauppaugeTVServer” and use the tv tuner remotely like the ip devices
