I’m trying to get my new WinTV-DualHD working with Plex running on a QNAP TS-251A. Since QNAP installs some sort of proprietary distro (perhaps based on Debian), I can’t install the PPA that Hauppauge provides. I was able to install the OPKG package manager, but I’m not sure how I can use that to install the necessary drivers to get Plex to recognise my WinTV-DualHD? Thanks
All,
I’m still stuck. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, but I followed Plex’s and Haupppauge’s guidance and bought the winTV-dualHD tuner which appeared to be compatible with my QNAP TS-251a Linux-based NAS. However, with the tuner plugged in, the device never shows up when I try to set up Live TV. Any ideas what steps I need to go through?
The WinTV-DualHD does not show as being compatible with NAS devices in the Plex Supported DVR Tuners and Antennas webpage: https://support.plex.tv/articles/225877427-supported-dvr-tuners-and-antennas/. I am not sure if there is anyone running it on a NAS or not, it is listed as available under Linux but Linux compatiblity is based on Unbuntu Linux 16.04.2 LTS.
