Player Version#: Nvidia Shield Pro, no updates for the plex app available but I don’t know version number
I’ve never had this problem Tonight, I added two movies as usual. Same naming conventions as always, never had a problem there. After plugging the harddrive back up, I logged into plex on my computer as always and clicked the “Scan library files” in the “…” of the Movie section so it’d add the movies.
Rather than taking a few minutes as the icon spins in the right hand top as it updates, it spins about 1-2 seconds, the titles disappear for half a second, and that’s it. No new media shows up.
I’ve restarted everything, verified the hard drive is viable with no errors, tried again. Same. The movies already on there play just fine. The new ones just don’t show up. They’re not obscure. In fact, rather popular so it shouldn’t be a problem.
The only thing I haven’t done is the “Library Update Required” as I hear it really messes with your chosen metadata/posters/added categories so I’ve been avoiding it. I don’t see how that would be the issue, but it’s worth mentioning as this is real problem if I can’t add any new movies or other media.
What am I missing? Thanks for any help you can give.

That did it. It would appear Plex won’t allow anymore “refreshing” of the media without updating the “library as required.” I gave in and did it. It fixed the problem.
