Good news: 1.5 (the version with this bit of the code rolled back) passed the certification testing with MS.

It now needs to go the the next stage of the publishing process, but hopefully should be released next Tuesday.

Again, sorry if this has bitten you and I hope this release goes out soon and fixes the issue for everyone.

Thanks!

This is terrible. Plex, stop ruining my media experiences!

I was also unable to use the app but got it working by hard reboot

For me deleting the matching device profile on my server solved the problem.

Plex Server unavailable. Can still view files through Xbox Media Player. Plex seems to have a network issue recently.

What needs to be done too apply the update?

As soon as it is released when you open the app it will tell you that the app needs to update and hit okay and everything will update and be done.

Thanks

I have also experienced this problem, unfortunately none of the fixes have worked for me. I however know that the xbox app is a preview and would like to say I appreciate the relentless work the team have put in to finding and correcting the issue.

At least it’ll be working in time for the holiday season so while the kids are off school they’ll be able to watch some films.

Thanks for a great app and for working tirelessly on making it work on the xbox

I’m having the same problem since yesterday. I can’t log in with any of the three accounts I have on my Xbox One. I’ve been using plex since day One it came out on the Xbox One, and now it is useless. No method works for me.

I guess I have to connect back the super old Boxee Box which has never ever fail to work. Works like a charm even tough It doesn’t have anymore support and it’s slow to boot.

Why am i paying for Plex Pass when i can’t use the product. This has been going on far to long just revert back… Do something. #STOPSTEALINGMYMONEY

Pressing menu button then hitting ‘quit’ on the app worked for me.

I am not sure if you just missed the post, but the developers have already submitted a revision reverting the change that caused this issue to Microsoft that was approved. They are currently waiting for Microsoft to release the updated version which will be Tuesday (Microsoft’s release day)

I had the same problem for 1 week and it got resolved as soon as i went to the settings of the plex app on the Xbox and under security i selected “same network as server”.

Work fine now

What settings are you talking about?? I don’t see any on the xbox one for applications.

You can press the menu button (the tree lines right to the XBOX-button) and then hit settings to go into settings.

Please note if your app is stuck at the loading screen this menu might not be accessible (it was this way for a friend of mine) … But anyway => One more day until the fixed version should be out

Quitting the app and signing out of my profile worked for me, works just fine now.

Nothing working here…what a horrible update to cripple the entire application on xbox.

The update is now LIVE

Please let us know if the update to 1.5 doesn’t fix the ‘app does not start’ issue.

Haven’t seen the update yet here in Canada.
