How do I save my p90X videos onto plex. I have tried saving the videos as a TV show with the format of described here , however it divides my p90x into two different movies.
Can you not create a 'home videos' section, titled appropriately, and name them the way you want them to appear?
I want the movies under the p90X title, as if it were a season of a TV show, so that I don't have a ton a different videos.
I looked on TheTVDB, Freebase, and TheMovieDB (Plex's main sources for metadata to match and look nice with) and came up with nothing. I tried searches of P90 and P90X. All nada.
I believe the problem is because that is a commercial product and not a Hollywood-endorsed movie or tv program.
While you can create a pseudo-season structure, without manually creating local media assets (there is a support article on this), you won't have anything that looks 'nice' like TV.
Sure you can. You just have to add images. Just organize each set of videos as a season. You will need to go in and manually edit the metadata or if you set the posters correct, you do not even need the metadata, just go off the images. This was just a test run I did. I have not actually gotten around to organize my files to include these videos, but it can be done.
make sure you are putting them in a TV Show type library (if you started this with a movie type library then it won't really work)
I went ahead and edited the metadata manually in plex preferences and it saves fine but the next time that Plex does a scan it renames the workout videos as "episode 1,2 3 etc" instead of "Ab ripperX, YogaX etc"
For my workout videos, i'm using a tv show format (series, episodes), and i used Media Browser to initially edit the titles/descriptions/images which saves nfo files with the videos, then use the plex nfo importer instead of trying to scrape the details online. That way it keeps it in sync and if i ever move to a new server i don't have to migrate plex database to retain the metadata.
How did you use media browser to edit the titles/descriptions/images? Is this a software that I need to download? I have P90X, P90X3, T25, and Insanity. All are saved as MKV files. Will Media Browser be able to save info files with that format?
