I think… needs a third option: Do nothing: Both the active button choices have a consequence to the current playing stream.
The [ x ] function top-right in a popover usually has this effect, but its subtle. It isn’t guaranteed to be “don’t affect the subject” -its purpose is to close the pop-up/pop-over, but it can be taken as meaning anything really. When I hit the [ x ] what happens is my plex-web stops showing me bound to the flung source (this may be a quirk of mpv-plex-shim) and I have to explicitly re-bind. The stream continues, so thats good.
I think “nah: she’s good mate, leave things as they are, don’t change a thing” option is missing.
I’m not really sure what you are asking. You want to disconnect but let it continue playing on Chromecast or whatever target device is? Why is it important to disconnect if you are still watching?
OK. So, if this really is the only time you THINK this popup happens, I’ve stumbled on a bug, and probably it’s with mpx-plex-shim because I did NOT attempt to disconnect.
This may also be sleep/wake timer on OSX interfering, or chrome behaviour when a tab is deselected or something.
Possibly. What event is causing the “would you like to continue on x device” popup appear in the first place if you are not trying to disconnect. Does it appear as soon as you connect web to Plex amp. Is that even what is happening? Are you playing from web to amp or amp to web? From what type of devices? I want to try to reproduce so I can see what you are seeing
I’ve installed mpv-plex-shim on ubuntu/rpi4 and I’m casting from web client on OSX big sur chrome. There is no firewall on either the rpi4 ubuntu host or the osx host.
I’m using a hand installed port pass through rule on my home router firewall, but it does have uPnP enabled too.
mpv-plex-shim is being used because I run the pi headless.
I don’t intentionally stop or interrupt the playing track. It just … does a popup event on me, without stopping sound. The popup just happens. While the popup is up, nothing changes. If I interact with the popup it can cause music to stop playing.
