Writing profiles for DLNA devices

What does your profile look like?

If I had to guess I would say the name of your xml isn't matching the Client name field in your profile.

IE for my LG:

LG Blu-Ray LHB336.xml

As for documentation, profile writing is an advanced feature and there isn't a lot of documentation.  The guide here hasn't really been updated and a few of the settings and options arn't even valid anymore.  The easiest way to start out is to copy a profile from a work device that is close and modify the profile to match what you need.

HI .

cheers again for the help. The xml is so far a direct copy of the android profile with the client name changed to the same as the file name, and the name passed in the url parameter:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

    ac" context="streaming">

        <NotMatch name="video.hasScalingMatrix" value="1" isRequired="false" /

>

I took the test and put the profile, accessed the log and it displays like this:

Aug 21, 2014 22:10:57 [0x427458c0] DEBUG - MyPlex: https://plex.tv/

Aug 21, 2014 22:10:58 [0x427458c0] DEBUG - Initialization complete
From what I understand it would already be possible to change the audio track of movies right?

Or is there some other setting?

Thank you.

As long as you are seeing something like:

Aug 22, 2014 21:46:31:996 [20928] DEBUG - Mapped client to profile LG 47LM6700 ...

When you try and play a movie then yes.

To change the audio for movies would just be a matter of editing the directplay capabilities which looking at the manual for your TV should be something like:

I'm actually not to sure what you are doing to pass the name through a URL.  DLNA client profiles are used with identifiers/device descriptions sent to the server.  Profiles such as the android one are not part of the DLNA functions.  They are actually specified by the apps which is why when running the Android App/Plex Web/Plex Home Theater no entries are added into the DLNA log.

Are you seeing entries in your DLNA log when trying to access the server with your blackberry?

In my log looks like this:

Typically Microsoft-DLNA is a windows 8.1 computer running

Very strange because I have plex installed on D'Link 320L that has a specific linux

Do you have a windows PC running on your network?  Windows Media Player and Windows 8.1 automatically search for DLNA servers and send out the Keep-alive requests you saw automatically unless you disable them.

Yes I use a Notebook with Windows 8.1, is for him that I access the address of Plex installed on D'Link 320L.

In case this line of Log can be for some viewing I've done the Notebook? And the log may not have registered watching TV?

I am unable to tell as the only entry you posted wasn't from the Television.  If you want to post your DLNA log I can look through it and tell you.

I'll post the logs here, because I do not know exactly what you need:

See if would these log files.

Thank you ...

According to those logs, the only thing connecting to your Server is a Samsung TV.  The other entries for the Microsoft-DLNA are all a windows 8 PC.

Very strange because there is a sansung network TV, but I have a LG would be the one I use, and of course has the notebook using windows 8.

Had a log that came my LG will try to access the plex again and check the log.

I remember I was giving a warning but it was not finding the name that set on my tv.

I'll try to reproduce ese log and post here.

Could play see below, see my LG appears online writing verbose:

This appears to be your LG TV, the only other thing really to do would be to test out playback and see how that works for you.

So have tested but unfortunately I could not change the audio track.

So have tested but unfortunately I could not change the audio track.

Typically when I have seen this happen, it is because the movie is transcoding or directstreaming instead of directplaying.  You can test this out by commenting out the VideoProfile section under transcode targets.

Start commenting

With no transcode target the video file is forced to directplay, on my LG when this happens I am able to change the audio track by hitting the info/display button while the movie is going.

Commented above the tag and I still can not change the audio track.

Get me a question, if the profile that created this being activated when the TV is connected right? I did change the name to LG 47LM6700.xml JUNIOR-LG-TV.xml and to test the tags internally but did not succeed.

Could it be the Plex TV that is not being clever to display the option of audio tracks?
I did the commenting within this tag test and it did not work.

Tested also commenting Tagged:

But without success too, am beginning to find that it has no way to change the range of...

Are you seeing entries in your DLNA log when trying to access the server with your blackberry?

sorry for not getting back sooner, been trying a few other things.

I have a workaround that avoids the need for me to muck about with dlna profiles now. I won't waste your time any further on this - thank so much for the help though, it really was a ray of hope in the dark while I was trying to get what i needed worked out :D
