I’m having some trouble with DVR.
I’m using tautulli to monitor my server. Whenever i’m watching live tv, it will say that the bitrate needed to direct play is 40mbit. No matter the channel.
This doesn’t play nice when trying to stream outside our house as i have 50mbit upload, so it wil automatically try to transcode to a lower bitrate.
That would be fine if it weren’t for the fact that the most heavy channel i have is 12mbit…so everything should direct play. I can confirm this by disabling my upload limit, after that it will direct play at 12mbit.
This behaviour is also seen on the local network, i can confirm through my switch that the hdhomerun is streaming at 12mbit but Plex will think it is in fact 40.
Now i could just disable my upload limit in plex, but that would defeat the purpose of it as i am constrained by upload and it is nice that the server will transcode when i’m at the limit.
So can this be solved in some way?
