I am recording the Olympics on CBC, and the files are saved with names like this:
2020 Tokyo Olympic Games (2021) - 2021-07-25 08 00 00 - Morning.ts
2020 Tokyo Olympic Games (2021) - 2021-07-25 08 00 00 - Overnight.ts
2020 Tokyo Olympic Games (2021) - 2021-07-25 08 00 00 - Primetime.ts
2020 Tokyo Olympic Games (2021) - 2021-07-25 08 00 00 - Tokyo Today.ts
They all have the same time of 0800, although different filenames. In the UI, each episode shows up separately with a correct thumbnail and a correct description; however, when I go to play an episode, it will often not play the correct one. While the episode is playing, it does show the name of the episode that’s actually playing, but it isn’t the one I selected.

This happened to me as well. There’s a couple of lengthy discussions about it. (though not about CBC, but the issue is the same). My complaint is here… Olympic Recording Disaster - Live TV & DVR - Plex Forum. I hope this helps.
I am also having this issue for over a year but it is Samsung TV app specific. I have sent in logs and iPhone video of what is actually happening and there is still no fix. My posts just died quietly. Have you had any success with work arounds?
In my case it happens when I DVR/record any live tv episode (goes to a DVR library that has its own file folder) that I have older episode of in my TV Shows library (also has a separate library and file folder). When I click to watch the newly recorded DVR episode it always plays season 1 episode 1 of the older TV Shows library.
Anyone with ideas? I keep updating PMS and player app in faint hope it will help. Nope.
