For me, ~95% of the time while playing a track, It shows current track release year (pic 1) which is obviously wrong.
Pic 2 shows that the album year is correct.
The rest 5% the year’s actually correct and it shows in the pic 3.
I suppose It’s a metadata problem and since many of my tracks doesn’t have a release date tag or smth, it just shows the default “2025”. Could we get it to not appear at all or just show the album year if the metadata’s not present?
There is no track year in Plex (yet).
There is only the album year.
In flac files, populate the DATE tag with yyyy-mm-dd.
If each track within an album has a different value in DATE, it is kinda random which is eventually used for the album.
You can use YEAR, but it’s not made to take a full date, as its name implies.
Alway cross-check with the Web app, to ensure it is actually a client app issue. If Web shows the same, it is more likely a server issue.
The thing I don’t understand is why almost all my tracks show release year 2025 (current) other than the album year which is always correct.
This means the year that shows on an album vs the year that shows in the track have different links
I don’t think I have conflicting dates inside the album.
There isn’t a way outside of Plexamp to check this date.
