There will always be a rather justified ‘WTF is wrong with Plex’ post now and then…
(the 1000 times I’ve mentioned Plex’s ‘Head Chopper 9000’ - have only resulted in crickets… so yea… ‘WTF is up with that?’ - is going to be rather common theme - from time to time).
I’m not sure who was at the meeting when it was decided to mask a portrait image with a Circle, but I’m pretty sure anyone in attendance was asleep.
We still don’t know exactly what is causing all the discomfort for the OP, but… I get the frustration.
You realize that the pictures do not come from a Plex server but from a metadata source like IMDB or TVDB?
But your frustration feels so big (WTF big may I say) that it seems to me that it’s a fight worth fighting for, you should not stop until you get retribution.
Man …when u add every 2-3 weeks between 2000-10000 movies every time …is frustrating …
I’m not your average user, with a few hundreds movies …

So the solution is all the time to remove my folders and ree-ad the movies once again …
And the worse part is to ree-add the 4k\bluray covers that they dont even exist in PLEX,and i didn’t find any automation for it …so im doing it manually …Yeah so much i love movies and plex …
But hey when they mess stuff up and they have 0 support that’s simply unbelievable,how i wrote before even WINRAR company has support …
There is development underway that will completely overhaul (I hope the guys developing it - are awake) the matching system.
Probably because the forums are now rampant with posts just like yours - that may imply the WTF - rather than spelling it out. Personally I don’t care if you spell it out, write it, or send it in Semaphore. I get it.
The old Python isn’t working right for everyone (works fine here, for the record) and the new ‘whatever it is’ should (maybe) address the issue in a positive way.
Time will tell.

OK, so I am not sre what is wrong, but if you are not getting posters, it could be an issue on the agent API side to the data providers, but it should be an issue for everyone and defintely not just you. Your naming looks correct.
As for re-adding and then you have to find the posters all over again. Might I suggest you look at LAMBDA agent. When you add your posters, or select the ones that YOU like, the agent then saves those images in the folder with your movies/tv show/etc. so that next time you add, all of the correct data is restored. Might help going forward (and yes, the agent was created because Plex did not provide a way to save curated info).
And once again im not expecting any kind of support from a free product …but if i pay,the least they could do is to read the logs and not send me to the community, were with no disrespect,they are not the creators of the PLEX CODE…

so what I think is that this was amazing before …but slowly slowly when they reach many plex pass users …that’s it…easy money …0 service …and that’s the beginning of the end for PLEX.
That’s why after installing EMBY and simply wowwwwwwwwww.
I opened a ticket (on the free version ) to ask something regarding the transcoding …8 hours I get an answer back with the solution (they ask for my logs ) and they see that I’m using an unsupported Nvidia driver
So there is any reason PLEX can be like this? Yes there is :

Maybe i will explain it better …imagine i have 3000 movies in plex …so what i did :
After 1 month of reaping my Blu-rays, I replace all the movies from 1080P\720p to Bluray \4K\UHD in the same folders (after deleting the old ones).
Plex started to recognize maybe 10-20 % of the movies covers(names ,trials,extras yes) …
I waited maybe 24 hours …and still nothing.
most of my movies are like this :
my gear is :10900K\128GBRAM\SYNOLOGY 160TB(RAID 6) +2TBCACHE \QUADRO RTX5000
1GB \1GB FIBER Internet …logs uploaded already in my first message …
so I have a strong HW and a good internet …why I have this issue ?and again the only solution I found is simply to delete all my folders \clean trash\bundles \optimaze db and ree-add m,y movies …and then all good once again …I WANT TO DIE SO MUCH WORK!!!
My issue is really important ,because i think that the plex code maybe can handle the 4k movies ,because this started to happened when slowly slowly im adding more and more 4k movies …were each movie is between 50-110 GB …
We are in 2020 …blu ray is dead …4k-8k Atmos is the new platform, …the big question were is plex in this ?still in the 90’s ?
Did EMBY simply got it right ? so before im leaving PLEX i asked for their help ,but hey guess what …NO SUPPORT !!!

seems like you have a naming issue or permission follow the guide and name the movies correctly spelling and every thing might want to try and remove extra letters and char’s in the movie db scanner does not like them it is not just the name of files but all so naming of the folder structure do yourself a favor and work it out i have over 1000 move and tv shows titles that i can add in just 20 mins with no issues i have been where you are you can manually fix each one in the app or fix your misspelling of movie titles
you overcompensate for your lake of knowledge and blame other people stop updating unless you need the new features and get off the beta side of things you dont need to update working install unless your trying to achieve something you just achieving headaches your issues are all user issues not applications or coding you could also try and change the db to a new one like tv database or imdb or whatever one you like that works with your naming structure
i will say again your hate for plex is misplaced it should be with you
and i have Ford.v.Ferrari.2019 works fine for me you need to learn how to Db your collection better oh and for your info just run it on windows with your p5000 you have way to much money and not enough sense.

you say it work with fresh install but after that you break it it is either permissions or naming

This issues happens when im removing a bulk of movies (2-3k) and ree-add them again with the same name(but 4k instead of bluray ) …
And needles to say did the same thing on EMBY …like 7 days …each day remove all the library data …and re–add it … and simply worked flawless …
