X-Box One Preview App: Extremely High Bandwidth -> Stuttering Playback

I’ve been using the new X-Box One App preview and after the latest update to it I’ve been experiencing some severe playback issues. Blu-Ray files are playing back with constant severe distortion in picture and stuttering playback, making them unwatchable.

However I do not experience these playback issues on either my Roku or the Kodi add-on on X-Box. Checking my bandwidth using the same files, the Roku and Kodi add-on are pulling a bandwidth of around 30-40 Mbps via Direct Play/Stream. The same file being played through the native X-Box One app (or the new preview version) is pulling a bandwidth of 220+ Mbps (!). There’s no reason this app should be operating at 5-6x the bandwidth of its counterparts.

Any ideas on what’s going on here? Perhaps I should go back to the older version of the X-Box App but that is rife with its own well-documented buffering issues. Any help is appreciated.

Giving this a bump.

Lots of files are now unwatchable because of the constant distortion caused by the high bandwidth. Can anybody help with why the X-Box app is playing videos at 220+Mbps while all other devices (even the Kodi app with Plex add-on within X-Box) is playing at a more reasonable 40 Mbps?
