Hey guys, a little confused.
Tried to set up remote access in the settings and it failed at connecting publicly. Having said that, with my phone’s LTE turned on and WIFI turned off, I can still access and play 1 minute of content from my phone. Why is that working if Remote Access was not connected successfully. Not complaining, just need help clearing that up.
Secondly, I have two tabs at the back of my car. From what I’ve read, if I was to activate my Plex account with a 1 time purchase, I could access my PC’s media from any Plex launcher as long as it’s signed in to the same account, correct?
Plex Relay. It is a backup for when remote access is not working. It tunnels the stream through servers at Plex. It is limited to 1 Mbps (2 Mbps w/ Plex Pass). It can be disabled in Settings → Network.
Activation is based on the app store account. All devices using the same account are activated.
Since the activation is paid through the app store, it cannot be transferred it to another account (unless permitted by the app store) or to another store.
Example: You have two Android devices using the same Google app store account. One activation fee. You buy an Apple iPhone or iPad. That’s a second activation charge since it is through a separate app store. You can use the family sharing plan from Apple to activate family members devices.
