Whenever the Plex app is updated on AppleTV, all x265 files will play sound, but will not play video. Instead, there is a progress wheel displayed in front of a black screen (like when content is being loaded). This happens on all 5 Apple TVs that I own as well as a family members Apple TV that lives states away.
To correct the issue, you have to delete the app off of the Apple TV and then reinstall the app. Once this is done, everything works fine, but the process is not fun because it resets all settings you previously set in the app. I first noticed the issue about 6 months ago. However, it seems to be happening more often. I assume it’s whenever the app is updated.
Can this be fixed by Plex?
