When using the new Xbox 360 Plex app, my movies always play back smaller than my screen size. I can set the display to "stretch ", but it will always default back to normal on the next playback. I have tried setting different quality levels with no change. If I play the same movies using the built-in Xbox video player (it sees the Plex Media Server on my network) they play fine at the correct size.
Your help is greatly appreciated.

(Your thread has been moved to the Plex for Xbox 360 forum since issues are unlikely to be seen in the "General Chat" forum.)
- Please help out by providing the [XML file](https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201998867-Investigate-Media-Information-and-Formats) for a movie that has this issue.
- Please create a [small sample file](https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201035968-Generating-Sample-Files-from-Media) from the movie and verify the sample still exhibits the behavior. Assuming it does, uploading to Google Drive/Dropbox/etc. and sharing a link to it would be extremely useful for investigation.
Sorry, I was unable to find a specif I forum for the Xbox app at the time I posted this (even when I ran a search). I will provide the requested data this week.
I was signed into the forum under a different account and didn’t realize that the member forum was invisible to me. Oops. My mistake.
I just downloaded the Xbox 360 Plex app and any content that isn't natively HD (e.g., 480p or 576p) ends up "scaled down" so it doesn't fill the screen - that is, letterboxed on the sides AND top/bottom. I haven't figured out how to change the display to "stretch" (unless that's a TV thing rather than an in-app thing). It doesn't matter if the aspect ratio is 16:9 or 4:3 or anything else; all sub-HD content is letterboxed.
I've tested it on four different TV shows (random episodes) and three different movies. Anything less than HD shows letterboxed on all four sides. HD content (whether transcoded or not) shows up full screen. The same content (HD or SD) via DLNA on PS3 has no issue and shows up full screen.

Please help us out by providing the information [requested above](https://forums.plex.tv/topic/129571-xbox-360-app-playback-video-size-problem/#entry780578).
I have exactly the same problem. Some videofiles play full screen, but my recorded tv files alway play in a boxed screen with black borders. I have attached a sample xml file from a video that is playing in a box. I also uploaded a sample videofile. You can download it here; http://1drv.ms/1yD4z5c.
I hope this can be fixed soon.
Kind regards,
Michel
I'm having the exact same problem too. Any natively HD movies are fine. All the 480p movies are 'zoomed out'.

XML is attached.
Here's a couple of photos:
I Have exactly the same problème.
I Hope a solution.
I’m glad you folks were able to post the sample files requested. I haven’t gotten around to making any.

Thank you for the detailed information, photos, and especially the sample video. We've been able to reproduce the behavior and it's under investigation. No other information to share at this time, sorry.

Thanks Chris!
I am having the same issue.
Here is a screenshot of Toy Story 2 480p playing from my Xbox 360.
Everything above 480p plays fullscreen.
Just for the sake of closure, I thought I'd post that the last XBox 360 Plex update appears to have included the fix for this issue as I am no longer seeing the problem, as far a I can tell. Anyone else still having the problem?

For 4:3 formatted SD content, it now appears to be correctly sized. For 16:9 content, like newer shows on DVD (“The Unit”) or movies (“Back to the Future”) it’s still not scaled up - black bars on all four sides.
No, it is not solved yet. My recorded tv shows still have a box around it.
To be clear: there has been no app update related to this. As mentioned previously, we're aware of the issue and we've been able to reproduce it. We're working to resolve a number of issues, but releasing updates to Xbox apps is a very involved (and long) process. Sorry for the trouble and we appreciate your patience.
Interesting. I must have changed something with my encoding settings that affected this issue.
Same problem here very annoying as I have just paid for it
Just adding a note to report that this is an ongoing issue and that I very much hope it is addressed.
I'm finding the issue with all SD files that are h.264 encoded with an anamorphic (16:9) PAR. PAL and NTSC, MKV and MP4 are all equally affected.
Older Xvid format files or square pixel encodes seem ok - it's the anamorphic encoding that seems to be improperly supported.
