Xbox App unable to play DTS

Started adding some Blu Rays to my library today. All seemed fine while streaming on my firestick, decided to test out the Xbox app and had no sound. Turns out I needed to turn direct play off to get sound working through an audio transcode because the Xbox Series S app for some reason doesn’t support DTS.

I thought everything was fine until I tried another vid, this one also had DTS audio but also had a stereo track for me to test. With this vid when DTS was on and forced direct play on there was no sound but flawless video, I turned forced direct play off and now had sound but this started causing video glitches, big green stripes on the screen and stuttering video. Ok, I tried out the stereo track and got flawless video and audible sound.

I tried turning on audio passthrough and that didn’t help. Then tried downloading the DTS, Dolby, and Bluray player apps as someone on reddit suggested and that also didn’t help.

I’m at a loss for what to do to get these videos playable on an Xbox. Is reencoding all these videos the only way to get them playable fully? that seems kind of ridiculous considering they play fine on my phone, and my Windows PC. Even a Firestick on the same TV works, yet Microsoft’s console just can’t play audio properly.
