The old app had no problem connecting.

Did you push up?

YES, I pushed up on the controlller

@sfreddy If you go to the user menu (in the top righto on the home dashboard page) and select Media Server Status do you see your server connected?

my server is connected. However, I can’t get it to do remote access. I am using google wifi. I set up a static address for my computer which is the server and port forwarding 32400 external in the google app. I manually specified the port in plex and still get error message that it is not accessible outside my network.

@sfreddy I’m confused. So the server is showing as connected in the Xbox One app? But you can’t see your libraries? Being unable to connect remotely is a separate issue (if your Xbox One is on the same local network as your server).

It is not showing as connected in the xbox one app.
I thought the 2 issues might be related.
I would like solutions to both issues. Thanks

As I sit here trying to find help to this problem in the forums, it is incredible to me that one this has been a problem for years and two the threads always seem to get to the point of describing the problem, saying that yes we have indeed enabled Allow fallback to insecure connections. After that, the threads always go dead with zero solutions. And on top of everything the threads are marked as solved. Am I the only one dealing with this??

Hi there. Sorry, this slipped off my radar recently. @sfreddytv @Moodin22 can you enable logging in the app first, then go to the Media Server Status item from the user menu, click retry and post the server logs?

Attached are my server logs.

I am also unable to connect to the server with my xbox one. I tried manually setting the IP address as seen in another thread. I tried connecting directly to the the router instead of the unmanaged switch. I tried setting the router to bridge mode and and connecting everything through the unmanaged switch. (That made it worse, Plex player would not even complete loading before giving a server unavailable message with a row buttons across the screen, starting with Retry and Go Home. One was a manual ip/port configuration button. Though that combined with turning off the private network firewall - windows defender - did finally allow my cell phone to connect to plex through the cell network.)

and now it works

@sfreddytv Thanks for the logs. A couple of things. It looks like you’re using an IPv6 address, perhaps try switching to IPv4 to see if that makes a difference. That might be causing a network issue somewhere. Secondly your server is not showing as published to plex.tv. That would result in the Xbox One not being able to discover its IP address.

The devices page on the server shows the xbox one.
See capture 2.
capture 1 shows remote access screenshot after I switched to IPv4 only in windows.

Your Xbox One appearing on your devices list just means you’ve linked it to your Plex account. It does mean we can reach it or the Xbox One can talk to the server. Your server connectivity issue might be related though. Please read this article on resolving that issue first to see if it helps.

worked with google wifi team to resolve the problem. Now, I am able to connect to plex via my xbox and remotely using cell signals. However I still get the error message depicted.![] Is this a problem?(/uploads/default/original/3X/9/0/903f297215ab1529f2ee8b05a70d76d70c0a0b1c.png “”)
logs are attached.

I am finding that it worked because they made me turn off windows defender firewall on the server pc. What applications need to be allowed for connections to go through?
with the firewall turned off, I am connected

@sfreddytv That’s great. I’m not familiar with Windows Defender Firewall, but I would imagine you would need to open up ports that Plex needs to communicate. See this article for more information.

did so and restarted my computer. it now works.
